There are so many things which we can see but actually don’t get the utility of those things. For example: if we open the hood of our cars, we may see things which seems technical and mechanical but still we are unable to understand the total mantra present inside the hood. In order to kill the confusion let’s discuss a very trivial but important part present in mechanical setups i.e. hoses.
Hoses are like pipes but totally possesses different utility unlike pipes they are reliable, durable and made of different stuff altogether. Hoses are examined with the diameter or if we say specifically with the inside diameter. In layman language in order to use a hose among high pressure of liquid one has to use thicker diameter hoses (outside diameter OD). Unlike tubes and pipes hoses are more durable and the diameter cannot be changed. Hoses can be used in so many ways, let’s roll on to some uses of hoses:
Water or other liquids: certainly just like tubes and pipes hoses can be used for the travelling of water and other liquids, depends on the nature of the liquid one can situate hoses accordingly. Moreover, the basic reason of using hoses instead of normal pipes and tubes is when we want to carry the liquid in an airy or fluid environment. Usually mechanical designs such as: cars, generators and bikes use hoses and instead of normal tubes. There are plenty of reasons; aviation fuel hose are heat resistant and one can easily rely on the durability of a hose as compared to pipes and tubes.
Gases: a tube has to have a good quality and properties in order to travel the gas through it, whereas a hose can be used for gas too. Certainly there are some gases which are so acidic that it can baldy ruin the surface of a hose. Usually in order to control the pricing people use pipes (iron pipes, perfect steel supplies ) for gas travelling.
The making of hoses can be defined as the combination of fabric (number of plies of fabric) and rubber (a hard quality of rubber) both are used to make a hose a proper one. So much so there are other benefits too which are intact with the use of hoses, such as: easy bending, swinging, clipping, anti-choking and there are so many other things which come along with the usage of hoses. Usually the inside diameter of a hose is approx… ¼ to 3/7 (ID). In order to identify a hose among all other types of tubes and pipes one can analyze the texture presents outside the hoses, a knitted, wrapped with metal threads around the exterior of the pipe.
